Local Area Network Gaming

Here you'll find information on our various attempts at LAN gaming. We've been trying to get a game day going at least twice a year. The next game will see if we can actually pull it off or not.

Currently, the next game is scheduled for...Well, there's the trouble. Either we might get a game in late June or late July.

This time I hope to initate a neat contest I read about on lanparty.com. I've changed it up a bit, but I think it's for the better. For prizes, I think they also had a good idea of making it something silly, like a bag of chips. Maybe some Pringles or something.

Navigator XTREME!

In this contest we will pair off into teams of two.

One player will be the Driver and one the Navigator

We will choose a single level from a FPS. Preferably something with lots of high drops and/or Lava. Everyone will have an opportunity to run through the level without opposition.

The driver will have the Seeing Incapacitation Device (SID) attached to his/her head. (e.g., a paper bag will be put over your head).

Your Navigator will then direct the SID-wearing Driver to the end of the level. The Navigator can only issue verbal commands. Once completed, Navigator and Driver will switch and repeat the experience.

The winning team will be the one that completes the level the quickest by averaging the two times together.
