What the hell do you want?
|

Photos I started taking more pictures, one of the things I wanted to do more of this year. I figured I should actually take a good look at the camera I own and maybe use it for more than just family photos and up-close Lego shots. There's actually a lot you can do with it. I heard a segment on NPR last week where a group of friends were taking a single photograph, every day at 7:15. Which sounded pretty neat. I don't actually think it's sustainable, but I'm going to give it a wack. I'm going to take the broad approach; not waiting for a specific time, or a specific subject matter. The only requirement I'm giving myself is to take at least one photograph taken within a 24-hour span (12:00AM–11:59PM), everything else is wide open. I'm not even going to force myself to post it everyday, just that it gets taken (although I am going to try to post them). Like I said, I expect not to complete this. I've got 4 days already and the first full, work week is about to start, but what the hell. If you want to see how far I get, drop me an email and I'll send you the link.
I did that for a while - found out I don't do enough *different* things on a regular basis for it not to be boring.
By That said, there are a number of flickr groups exactly for this - you might want to take a look. The one I used was this: http://www.flickr.com/groups/oneaday/ zigdon, at

Yeah, I'm mildly concerned about boring repetition too. It seems like a lot of my normal photographs are all in one or two rooms. I hope that it'll force me to think about what I'm doing instead of just snapping off whatever. Right now, I'm looking for interesting moments and whatnot. I suspect that'll wear off at some point soon. BTW, I saw your posting something similar after I decided to start this. Weird, I know I've missed things over the last Year of Hell, but I thought I would have remembered that one. I must not have read it the first time around.
