Monkey Shines

I've been dooling monkeys lately (which isn't quite as obscene as that statement would appear to imply). It started with a Superhero's app on Facebook that I actually think is pretty neat for a "game" on a social networking site.

My original superpower was bioelectricity, so I came up with "Shocks the Monkey" and need a pic to go along with it. I'm still sort of working on it, and I'm getting more use out of that tablet and Painter, which is always a bonus.

Here's a couple of them:

Monkey Sketch. This is a tiny sketch in the corner of a paper at work. I was going for that Planet-of-the-Apes monkey.

Cornelius accuses you of being a hack.

Shocks the Monkey, alpha version. I should have posted some sketches, but this is the monkey colored with no background.

Shocks as he points to danger. Or that the bathroom.

Shocks the Monkey, beta version. Background, electricity (which I still can't do properly) and a Boston backdrop. He lacks detail, especially the idea of hair across his head.

Yeah, he looks more like Shocks the Bear.

Gladiator Monkey. This one is somewhat better, but somewhere along the way, it turned from superhero, to Roman gladiator. Honestly, I have no idea why. I do know, he lacks a helmet of some kind. I was thinking of the typical shoe-polish brush, but I don't think that says slave-monkey enough. I'll have to look around.

I'm doing what now?

I like gladiator Monkey. He almost looks like a real artist drew him.

So! Are you going to make a logo for our Superfreinds team? :)

While you're at it, make something for Spitz Boy, with HAIR POWER!

P.S. You spelled drooling wrong. Oh wait, you meant doodling. ;)
