Monday, January 14, 2008 Working on Myra I've got a rough and tumble version of 1.9 done. I had to get the hell out of the house yesterday and I wound up at Borders with my laptop. Yes, I was a big, fat dork, sitting there, sipping ice tea and writing. I'm quite sure, I looked ever so fucking pretentious. I've actually never written in public before and it was somewhat disconcerting. It probably didn't help that I chose what I thought was a quite table against the wall that turned out to be directly in front of where the staff moves in and out of the back. But for a short while, I actually forgot where I was and just wrote. I even got a small chunk of 1.10 out. However, because I had written about half of 1.9 months ago, I have some triage to do on it now to mesh it together. Even then it's bound to be clunky (as opposed to the crappy the rest of it is, I guess). There's a very good chance, this will get some retro-writing as I go. With luck, I'll have it up around mid-week, hopefully. Be gentle, it's still a flaming mess. Still no heat in the car. But the snow meant that Tine stayed home and I have the Highlander today. Which was very good, the snow this morning was pretty bad. At times, I could barely make out the car in front of me a few yards away. Sharon had a detour that came out where a pole or tree had snapped and brought down every major line into one single place in the center of the road. I got here about 10 AM to find the place almost deserted. Apparently, they changed the call-in message at 7:30 that you could work home if you wanted to, a full 30 minutes after I checked it and found no change. I decided to stay, because it seemed stupid to make my way home in the snow only to work with everyone home and around (meaning no real work gets done). Especially when the snow is supposed to end around 3PM and I can actually get something accomplished here. posted by Evil Wayne | 12:20 PM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
