Lunch, or the Lack Thereof

I opened my lunch to microwave what I thought was going to be chili only to be confronted with pasta and sauce. What happened to the chili? The containers are the same, but the cover is only translucent. It was reddish and it was the identical shape as the previous chili container, yet no chili.

But more importantly, when the hell did we have pasta and sauce last? How long has this been in the fridge? Should I eat it anyway, risking some kind of food poisoning with explosive bowel movements? How long would I have to cook it in the microwave to kill anything that might be in it? Would I be left with nothing but flaky ashes and the shrill of the smoke alarm?

I chickened out and had a cookie from the vending machine with a V8 instead. Chocolate chip doesn't not wash down with V8 very easily.

2 minutes in the microwave should kill every living thing in that bowl. Now, that's not to say the bacteria didn't leave behind some sort of neurotoxin as waste product.
