Actually, this day has gone off quite well. We got to sleep until about 7:30! At which point, TheBoy burst into the room with a big ass smile and a "It's morning! Where are the stockings?"

Awesome. He's at the perfect age where Christmas is still all magic and no hassle. 

Tons of loot and the sunroom was just about trashed out from the debris. It's way too small for all the furniture, the tree, the gifts and the family. But a steady round of trash removal kept it from overwhelming us. By about 9:00 PM that post-Xmas-decompression sets in and it's just over. Whew! 

This is our second Christmas home without going anyway and Tine talked me into lobster for dinner. Of course, I fouled it up by only getting two (the kids weren't eating it). It was still a very different Christmas dinner. I forgot how much work lobster is, not to mention that once we started boiling them we realized we didn't bother to check if we actually had any way to crack them open. After some frantic searching we unearthed an ancient, slightly broken set of nut crackers that were pressed into emergency service. Overall, I'm sort of borderline as to whether it's actually worth it or not. 

I got a drawing tablet for the PC--a Wacom Inuos3 (6x8)-- and I'm totally blown away. I've been playing with the Painter Essential program it came with for a good chunk of the day (and I'm going back to it right after this). I totally suck, there's definitely a learning curve, but it doesn't actually feel that steep. It's more of comfortably zone that I have to get into with the pen and the screen -- I keep wanting to spin the tablet like a piece of paper and I keep loosing my place. But I am so loving it right now. Here's a quick lame sketch I churned out:
