Wednesday, April 19, 2006 More Slag Still having issues keeping up with everything. === We watched the remake of Dawn of the Dead over the weekend. I think it was much better than the original. Much more visceral? Turbo-zombies are way scarier than a slow staggering horde. They're the wave of the future. Although, the girl rescuing the dog was a bit much. I have to think her own survival instincts would override that of saving the mutt, no matter how much "loss" she had endured up to that point. === Can't seem to sleep anymore. I know what's going on, but it doesn't make it any easier to know I'm just unable to sleep right. Monday night I was up until around 12:30 putting together Vlad's Castle so TheBoy could play with yesterday. When I was done, I was exhausted and went to bed, but I was still awake for the next half hour at least. From there, I woke up three or four times. Last night was only mildly better. I went to bed early enough, but I still woke up a few times. Once to find TheBoy sleeping next to me. And he "sleeps" by moving around and kicking a lot. === Speaking of Vlad's Castle, this set is pretty swanky. Working drawbridge, bucket to rain down fire on invading Rainbow Warriors, battering ram, three Vlad lackies with that funky speckled chrome armor. TheBoy loved it. Apparently he played with it, by himself for a full 30 minutes. Which is a lot for him. He hasn't quite gotten to the stage where he's willing to play alone for any significant period of time. He's constantly telling me he needs someone to play with him. But the castle got him going and that's awesome. Although I did have to do some minor repairs this morning, there was nothing lost --yet. It actually makes me want to run out and by the rest of the line before it's gone. === Booked my flight for Brickfest in August. I can't believe I'm actually going to get on a plane again. It's been 20 years - actually, now that I think of it, it really has been 20 years. I was last on a plane the summer after high school and that was 1986. With my luck it will actually be the same plane. I'm trying not to think about it too much. === I'm still not caught up with Lost, the Pirate Game or the audio from the PARV game.
