Dueling LANJoes

LAN, of course, is short of Local Area Nerdom.

Tomorrow is the springtime LAN party (always said with the fruitless hopes of an autumn LAN). Of course this just passes the threshold for a party. I think we're six this time. So that's more than a get-together, but less than a shin-dig. This time we're heading up to Joe's new house in the sticks of NH. Although, he's apparently a little closer than Shaun. Looks like I can knock off about 40 minutes getting Joe vs. Shaun. Closer is always better.

Speaking of Shaun, despite his luddite stance against just about all forms of computer entertainment, he is actually coming down for a bit. My secret plan is to show him:

A. Battlefield: 1942. For its unbridled, WWII, Nazi arcade action. With any luck this will be a gateway drug.

B. NeverWinter Nights. Another potential foot-in-the-door winner. RPGing with buddies across the internet. All the cool kids are doing it.

Beyond that, I expect the usual mayhem of Quake III, AvP and maybe even some online action with BF2. There's nothing like going online while everyone's in the same room.

Dorky pics to be forthcoming.
