iPod Trouble

My iPod had been acting up lately. Over the weekend, I had it connected to the PC, playing music and it would just stop in the middle of a song and become non-responsive. I had to crash it a few times until iTunes just stop recognizing it.

Then, it asked me to register it, which I was sure I had already done. When I skipped it, it basically invalidated all the songs I had put on there from iTunes. They weren't deleted, just inaccessible. So a playlist would just skip through the music until it found something I put on there another way.

So I went and re-registered it.

This morning I was going through it to add some podcasts and a whole assload of songs are still invalid. They were fine three days ago and now, nothing. I figure it must have something to do with the new PC. Most of the invalids are from transfers done on my old PC. The whole re-registering must have pissed it off and now it thinks I've pirated all this music.

What a pain --I haven't searched the site for a workaround or a troubleshoot-- but I have this feeling I'll have to reimport all these songs. And if that's true, it could be close to 3,000 songs I'll have to re-rip.

Mutherfucker.

And that exactly is why iPod/iTunes is evil. You already bought these songs, why in the world would it suddenly decide you can't use them?

No way man. I'll stick with my mp3s.
