Wednesday, July 20, 2005 Slag I am just not on top of things this week. Lets see, Mike's injury turns out not to be so bad. The doctor told him to just take off the sling and use his arm normally. Which seems a bit odd, but that's what you get when you go for medical advice out of the back of a van. ---- I got sick of the shitty wireless reception with the Netgear router, so I bought a Linksys one and, while it does does a better job broadcasting it doesn't have the same reporting Netgear does. Which means I have to figure out how to spy on the kids some other way. Netgear would give me an entire log of websites access thru the router if I wanted. I picked up on a whole bunch of things that one of them was doing. Although, so far they haven't figure out how to turn off or delete the IM chat logs. I got a ton to go through still. If you feel like judging, don't. Have kids old enough to look you in the face and lie, then talk to me. If we didn't invade privacy every now and then, we wouldn't know what to be looking for. I'm not sure why I feel defensive about it either. The person that keeps popping into my mind doesn't ever read this. But he's generally convinced himself he'd be fucking Father of the Millennium and whenever I do these seemingly hypocritical things, I see his smug face telling me how he wouldn't treat his kids his way - ever. But he has no children (well, he does now, but infants don't count in this case). ---- We have Alfred's Star Warz BrikWar game coming up this weekend. This is probably the most low-key BrikWar game to come along in quite awhile. There has been almost no buzz, no chit-chat. I blame it on the summer, but part of me has never been excited about playing anything Star Wars related. Don't get me wrong, it'll be a good time. But I like scenarios that generally don't take place in anything Lucas-related (although a THX-1138 game would rock). There's something so closed-circle about Star Wars that makes it somewhat inaccessible for me. Although, we're making the stormtroopers ridiculously easy to hit and ridiculously terrible at aiming (in other words, keeping it true to the story). I still have to spec out the troops and it's Wednesday already. :( Frankly, I'm waiting for the P.A.R.V. game, which for the actual P.A.R.V. should make admission alone worth it. DaveE's descriptions sound freakin' fantastic. ---- Got some prime Battlefield 2 time over the last week. I've been playing only ranked servers and have gotten up to Lance Corporal. Which unlocks the first weapon; I choose the SpecOps gun and had to have DanB tell me how to actually get to use it in the game. Last night, Dan, Jorge, Joe and I got onto a server as a squad and has a freakin' blast playing together with a TeamSpeak server going. Flew a lot of helicopter missions with the Cobra. Although I get a little overzealous sometimes and try to come in on ground targets at too steep an angle. Telephone poles, street lights and flagpoles are the bane of my piloting career. Strangely, the best I ever did was when the server switched me to the other side and I bombed the bejesus out of everyone with the Chinese fighter. Include the three stooges as they were all piled into a tank or jeep (I was going too fast to really notice). I'm really looking forward to doing it again. posted by Evil Wayne | 1:59 PM 2 comments 2 Comments:
Hey! You make me cry. :( By Alfred-jr, at Fri Jul 29, 05:20:00 PM 2005
The game itself was lots of fun, I just mean more that the storyline doesn't leave anywhere to go. |
