Can We Have One Summer Without a Major Injury?

Michael, from what we can gather, either was doing a stunt or just feel off his bike, but managed to come home in extreme pain yesterday. I'm not kidding. He took off his shirt and his right shoulder didn't look normal. So Tine carted him off to the emergency room and he's got an A/C Joint Separation, which is basically a dislocated shoulder.

We still don't know how bad it is. They put him in sling and we have to make an appointment to see an orthopedist so he can tell us how long it’ll take to heal. (If we get a copy of the x-rays, like last time, I'll post an image or two). WebMD.com puts A/C Joint Separations into three categories, all involving the tearing of ligaments. Blech!

They gave him some pain killer and some Pain Killers. He took the stronger stuff before going to bed which got him all hopped up on goofballs.

Last year it was a broken wrist, the years before we've had broken ankles, a contusion'd knee... that kid is a walking train wreck.
