Thursday, December 16, 2004 Vacation Countdown: T-Minus 168 Hours In exactly 7 days, I'll be on vacation for 10. I think it's the single largest block of time I've take off here since I started all most five years ago. Man, that's pathetic. On one hand, I can really use a break from here. I think the longest I've been away from work is about five days, maybe six. Usually that involves taking a couple of vacation days and pairing it with a long weekend holiday or something. On the other hand, I always come back and there's tons to catch up on. Sometimes it really sucks to be away for so long and have so much to readjust to when getting back. (Although this time, there's a downturn in work flow, so the shock should be lessened somewhat). I think I hate the reorientation that comes with taking time off. Having to wake up and be ready earlier instead of rolling out of bed whenever the hell I feel like it. Okay, I haven't been able to do that in years. Because children will set fire to the house if left unsupervised - it's a scientific fact. Anyway, I'm looking forward to my Christmas vacation where I can get unlimited Lego, FPS'ing and sex.
