I have to say that this type of figure has been slowly growing on me since I first saw them in The Ultimate Lego Book. At first, I had a hard time with them not having a face. Minfigs are pretty sweet, with their simple smiles and whatnot. But the Miniland figs have their own special charm. Bigger and more flexible. There's more room for details - of the blocky kind.
These are pretty cool. I've bookmarked this builder to come back to her stuff. Too bad her website's in Japanese.
So how wrong is it that I see them and think, "Hey, these would be cool in some kind of Heaven vs Hell BrikWar game?"
