Friday, October 08, 2004 Procrastination I should be finishing up the Harry Met Meredith script. I shouldn't be writing here; I can't believe I've let it go this long. I'm going to be so screwed if I can't get it done and soon. Yah, I know that makes no sense to you, but that doesn't change the fact I should be doing it. I've had forever to work on it, and now I'm down to the last two weeks. I really wanted it finished—the whole film -by this weekend. Now I'll be luck if the script is done. It's not even long. I'm thinking the film (which is a generous name to be calling a glorified slideshow) should be under 5 minutes. I mean, why is this so freakin' difficult? This is all for the Halloween BrikWar game. We need this intro film to give some perspective to the players. I wish I could elaborate more, but you never know who's tuning in. Basically, we have a horror game that we've been planning. We is another generous term because this has really all been Sully's game. He's done all the work and I'm involved just enough to keep my name somewhere in the credits. Regardless, this game is intense. There's been an insane amount of planning, scripting and sheer grunt work for one evening of entertainment. If we manage to pull this off, we will have set the BrikWars bar very high. But that's not going to happen as long as I keep finding dumbass ways to avoid finishing the script. I'm not sure why, but I've always had this problem. I never did anything in college that wasn't last-minute-edge-of-panic and stressed-filled. I'm not kidding, I did entire projects that had 6 weeks of lead time in 48 hours. On the plus side, I generally got good grades. Only once did it backfire because there was just too much to do. I think that's what I feel about this; There's so much to squeeze in. Then I have to find and/or mock images, record dialog and then start editing. Fuck, I'm screwed.
